Trout are closely related to salmon and char (or charr) species termed salmon and char occur in the same genera as do trout. Most trout such as Lake trout live in freshwater lakes and/or rivers exclusively, while there are others such as the Rainbow trout which may either live out their lives in fresh water, or spend two or three years at sea before returning to fresh water to spawn, a habit more typical of salmon. A rainbow trout that spends time in the ocean is called a steelhead.
This four tile decorative ceramic porcelain mural features a Trout jumping from a stream and about to take a fishermans fly.

Aquatic

Aquatic means relating to water, living in or near water, or taking place in water. It also implies an environment where plants and animals live. It may refer to a body of water such as the sea, ocean, lake, pond, pool, lagoon, river or stream. Aquatic may refer to an animal, either vertebrate or invertebrate, which lives in water for most or all of its life.

Backsplash

A backsplash refers to the material used to cover the area of wall between a kitchen counter top and the upper cabinets. Due to the amount of water and abuse that kitchens get, it is unthinkable not to have a backsplash along the back of the countertop. A tile backsplash will protect your wall from moisture and stains in high-use areas of the home, like behind the kitchen and bathroom sinks. This means that cleaning will be easier, and your walls will be protected, lasting longer. And best of all, it's an opportunity to add style, color and interest to any room.

Ceramic

Ceramics are generally made by taking mixtures of clay, earthen elements, powders, and water and shaping them into desired forms. Once the ceramic has been shaped, it is fired in a high temperature oven known as a kiln. Often, ceramics are covered in decorative, waterproof, paint-like substances known as glazes.

Dolphin

There are 40 extant species named as dolphins. Dolphins range in size from the 5.6 foot long and 110 lb Maui''s dolphin to the 31 foot, 10 ton killer whale. They have streamlined bodies and two limbs that are modified into flippers. Though not quite as flexible as seals, some dolphins can travel at 35 mph. Although dolphins are widespread, most species prefer the warmer waters of the tropic zones, but some, like the right whale dolphin, prefer colder climates.

Floor Tile

Floor tiles need to be tough and are commonly made of ceramic, porcelain or natural stone. Ceramic tiles may be painted and glazed. Ceramic floor tiles are durable and can generally handle heavy foot traffic. And they can be used in areas where there’s a lot of moisture such as in bathrooms and kitchens. Porcelin tiles have high water resistance and the ability to be pressed with a textured grip makes them a favorite for floors in wet spaces. Porcelain floor tiles can even be used outdoors and won't stain or mildew. Natural stone is often used for its strength and high end appearance. However each type of stone is different and may be best suited for specific flooring situations. Stone tiles also require special care and maintenance. The spaces between the tiles are commonly filled with sanded or unsanded floor grout, but traditionally mortar was used.

Mural

A mural is any piece of artwork painted or applied directly on a wall, ceiling or other permanent surfaces. Tile murals are murals made out of stone, ceramic, porcelain, glass and or metal tiles that are installed within, or added onto the surface of an existing wall. They are also inlaid into floors. Mural tiles are painted and glazed.

Seashell

A seashell is a hard, protective outer layer created by an animal that lives in the sea. The shell is part of the body of the animal. Empty seashells are often found washed up on beaches by beachcombers. The shells are empty because the animal has died and the soft parts have been eaten by another animal or have decomposed.

Tile

A tile is a thin object usually square or rectangular in shape. Tile is a manufactured piece of hard-wearing material such as ceramic, stone, metal, baked clay, or even glass. Generally they are used for covering roofs, floors, walls, or other objects such as tabletops. Thinner tiles can be used on walls than on floors, which require more durable surfaces that will resist impacts.

Tropical Fish

Tropical fish are generally those fish found in aquatic tropical environments around the world, including both freshwater and saltwater species. Many marine tropical fish, particularly those of interest to fishkeepers, are those that live among or in close relation to coral reefs. Coral reefs form complex ecosystems with tremendous biodiversity. Among ocean inhabitants, tropical fish stand out as particularly colorful. Hundreds of species can exist in a small area of a healthy reef, many of them hidden or well camouflaged. Reef fish have developed many ingenious specialisations adapted to survival on the reefs.
